Data Privacy: Opting Out of LinkedIn.com Using Your Data for Generative AI

This morning we were alerted to a data privacy issue concerning LinkedIn and its parent company Microsoft. The LinkedIn Website recently launched a Generative AI that is planning to use your data to feed its learning database starting on November 20th, 2024. All users by default are OPTED IN which allows the AI to use your data to feed its algorithms. If you do not want LinkedIn or Microsoft to use your data on LinkedIn.com, you MUST:

1) Log into LinkedIn.com
2) Go to “Settings” -> “Data Privacy”
3) Under “How LinkedIn uses your data” click on “Data for Generative AI Improvement”
4) Click the toggle OFF

If you are concerned about your privacy and/or data being used in this way we encourage you to opt-out as soon as possible so you don’t forget later on.

That is all. Please let us know if anyone has any questions or concerns.
