Due to the presence of active AI agents and corporate data mining on both Apple and Microsoft online cloud services, we have been recommending users NOT connect to any personal iCloud and/or Microsoft/OneDrive accounts on any WORK machines/devices.

You may choose to use your personal iCloud or MS Account/OneDrive with your PERSONAL machines/devices if you trust either Apple or Microsoft with your data (or lack thereof) and have confidence they will not turn over or sell your information or data to 3rd parties or the government upon request.

Mac users may maintain manual backups of their iOS devices via the Finder on your Mac. You just need to connect your iOS devices directly to your Mac.
