iOS 13 – DO NOT UPGRADE
———
Later this month (September 2019), Apple will be launching iOS 13, the newest version of the Operating System for iPhone, iPod, and iPad. As with the past 4 releases, we anticipate there will be potentially severe and critical bugs with this release that will probably not be fixed until Spring 2020.
Consequently we are recommending that NO ONE upgrade their iPhone, iPod, or iPad to iOS 13 when it is released later this September. We will let you know when iOS 13 is stable enough to upgrade to.
iOS 12 – SAFE TO UPGRADE
———
Current iPhone, iPod, or iPad users who may want to upgrade to the CURRENT version of iOS 12: NOW is the time to do that. iOS 12 is stable and all the major bugs have been fixed. It also has important security updates that should be applied ASAP.
iOS 12 availability – LIMITED TIME LEFT
————————
IMPORTANT NOTE: When iOS 13 is released, the option to upgrade to iOS 12 will disappear. So anyone who wants iOS 12 now who doesn’t have it (and their device has hardware that can take it), should take advantage of what little time remains to do so.
As always, if you decide to upGRADE from iOS 10 or 11 to iOS 12, remember to first back up your iOS device to iTunes on your computer or iCloud first. We generally don’t recommend users use iCloud for privacy reasons, but we know that some folks do for convenience.
Please let us know if anyone has any questions or concerns.
