We are receiving continuing reports of the recent Windows 11 updates breaking PCs with SSD Hard Drives connected to a bunch of disk controllers including the Phison controllers. The problem appears to be getting worse as more and more computers are being added to the affected list as time goes on. There is currently no planned fix for this problem since no one appears to be claiming fault for the problem that is causing machines to lose the hard drive and then blue screen and crash.

If you’ve already done the recent Windows 11 cumulative update there’s nothing to be done. As long as your machine is stable, you’re good.
For the time being, PC users who haven’t yet done their updates should not do their Windows 11 updates until Microsoft get this sorted. We will let you know when it’s safe to do your Windows 11 updates again. That is all.
